SkyShowtime Announces Official Launch Date and Lineup

The new pan-European streaming service will first launch in the Nordics on September 20

Launches will follow in the Netherlands, the Iberian Peninsula, and Central and Eastern Europe.

Service includes Hollywood exclusives and new series from the world’s biggest studios

LONDON–( CorporatePRwire )–New streaming service SkyShowtime today announces its official launch date of September 20, 2022 and will bring its premium offering of exclusive and iconic entertainment to millions of homes for the first time in all of Europe.

A joint venture of Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA), parent company of NBCUniversal and Sky, and Paramount Global (NASDAQ: PARA, PARAA), SkyShowtime will launch in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden on September 20, before expanding to Netherlands during the fourth quarter. SkyShowtime will continue its rollout with Spain, Portugal, Andorra, and Central and Eastern Europe in the coming months and through to the first quarter of 2023. Central and Eastern European markets include the Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia. Specific launch dates and pricing for these markets will be announced in the coming months.

SkyShowtime brings together the best in entertainment from the world’s biggest studios and storytellers. With thousands of hours of quality entertainment for the whole family, the service will host a wide selection of the world’s most anticipated series and films.

The service will offer first-to-the-small-screen exclusives of cinematic films from Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures, Hollywood’s oldest studios, which together account for nearly 50% of the Hollywood box office.

SkyShowtime will deliver a slew of new blockbusters following their theatrical and home entertainment releases, including Top Gun: Maverick, Jurassic World: The World After, Minions 2: Once Upon A Time Gru, The Northman, All On Stage 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, The Secret of the Lost City, Downton Abbey 2: A New Era, Nope, Belfast, Ambulance and The Bad Guys.

SkyShowtime will also feature new premium series, content for kids and families, and a selection of must-see titles and box sets from Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks Animation, Paramount+, SHOWTIME®, Sky Studios and Peacock, all streaming on one platform. SkyShowtime will also rely on local original programming, documentaries and specials from its markets.

In the Nordics, as part of the partnership with Paramount, SkyShowtime will replace Paramount+, allowing current and future subscribers to watch their favorite Paramount+ series and movies, such as Halo, Yellowstone, The Offer and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, as well than original SHOWTIME® content like Yellowjackets, Dexter: New Blood, Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber, and The First Lady. And for the first time, subscribers will have access to even more exclusive new series and movies from Universal Pictures, Sky Originals and NBCUniversal.

Upon launch, subscribers will be able to watch highly anticipated series from SHOWTIME® with American Gigolo, Sky Originals with The Rising, The Fear Index, and The Midwich Cuckoos, as well as Season 21 of Peacock’s Law & Order. In the coming months, additional series will include Season 5 of Yellowstone, Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, Vampire Academy, and Season 2 of Yellowjackets and SHOWTIME®’s Let The Right One In.
